Social Media Connection Guide

Xara Cloud lets you automatically or manually post beautiful, branded content directly to your social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Each of the channels has to be connected separately.

LinkedIn accounts can be connected straight away.

Facebook and Instagram requires setting up business accounts, the detailed instruction on how to create them can be found in these two articles below. Please make sure you set these up, before connecting your accounts.

How to connect social media accounts from Xara:

  1. Go to Xara (cloud.xara.com)

  2. On your dashboard, look under My Services on the right and click Social media connection.

  3. A window opens showing the social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram). Click "Connect account" on the channel you want to connect.

  4. You should now see the connection pop-up, log into your account and accept all permissions.

    If you don't see any pop-ups, check Enabling Pop-ups.


    ​Tip: Make sure you log in to the account you want to connect to. You may be automatically signed in to an account you didn't intend to use. If this happens, log out of that account in your browser, then start the connection again to choose the right one.

  5. When asked for permissions, accept all.

  6. Choose the page or profile you want to post on.
    You will only see the pages or profiles which you are and admin of.

  7. Now your account is connected!

Enabling Pop-ups

To connect your social media accounts, Xara opens a secure login window. If your browser blocks pop-ups, you may not see this window, which will prevent you from completing the connection. Here’s how to enable pop-ups on common browsers and devices:

1. Chrome (Desktop)

  1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.

  2. Go to Site settings.

  3. Scroll to Pop-ups and redirects and select Allow.

  4. Try connecting again.

2. Safari (Mac)

  1. Go to Safari > Settings (or Preferences) > Websites.

  2. Select Pop-up Windows in the sidebar.

  3. Find xara.com and choose Allow.

  4. Try again.

3. Firefox (Desktop)

  1. Click the menu button (☰) > Settings.

  2. Select Privacy & Security.

  3. Scroll to Permissions > Block pop-up windows.

  4. Click Exceptions… and add xara.com.

  5. Save changes and try again.

4. Chrome (Mobile – Android)

  1. Open the Chrome app.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu > Settings.

  3. Tap Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects.

  4. Enable pop-ups or add xara.com to the allowed sites.

5. Safari (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Go to Settings > Safari.

  2. Scroll down and toggle Block Pop-ups off.

  3. Return to your browser and try again.

If you're still having trouble after enabling pop-ups, try refreshing the page or using a desktop browser for best results.

If you still can’t solve it, contact support by clicking on the chat button on the bottom right corner of the screen.

How to check for admin access on LinkedIn for Company Pages

To connect a Company Page, you must be an admin of that page (Super admin or Content admin). Here's how to check:

  1. Go to linkedin.com and open your Company Page.

  2. If you can see the Admin tools menu in the top right, you have admin access.

  3. If you don't, ask an existing admin of the page to add you: they can do this from Admin tools > Manage admins > Add admin.

Once you have admin access, follow the connection steps above and select your Company Page.
